WiFi Manager 2.0 – yes it’s coming

It’s been a month since I posted about the upcoming WiFi Manager 2.0. I’m waiting for Google’s in-app billing, which was just recently made available for testing by application developers. I take it as a sign that actual real availability of this system is drawing closer, and hoping to release my update soon after that.

Meanwhile, an update on some more upcoming changes.

First of all, my call for help with the WiFi Switcher widget icon was answered, and there will be new icons. Here is a screenshot:

The radar icon was created by a graphics designer who calls himself “Dreamer…”, I only added the red / green state indicators.

Second, the radar mode now has animation. It looks really cool, the network “shadows” fade in and move around as scan data is updated. I will try to post a video soon.

I just looked. Wifi manager isn’t on Amazon.
Q: Do you plan on putting it there?

No, at least in the immediate future:

      – This version will utilize In-App Billing, which depends on Android Market.

      – I living in Russia now, and payment options for developers outside the US are very limited (non existent? last time I checked, when I got the invite last year).

Hey, I discovered myself in the thank-you list on your site. Not sure what it was for, still, nice.

Can you fix how my last name is spelled, though – it’s “Vasilyev”, not “Vasilev”.
